Purpose: Employ REALTORS to engage our community and its leaders to solicit the best response for rebuilding our community as quickly as possible.

Focus: Single Family First and Rental Properties Second

Overview: The model for our idea is the Chamber of Commerce's 'Adopt-A-Business'. First, we try to identify the level of need for each particular family. Then we match that family with a sponsor willing to assist them at that level of need. The sponsor will act as a mentor, a coach, and a friend to help with the many difficult decisions confronting them. Sponsor duties might also include assistance in filling out documentation to apply for FEMA money and SBA Loans to get the biggest bang for their buck. They may also provide labor and fill in the gap financially, where appropriate. The first two family/sponsor matches have been a great success. <More>
